Although not as famous as green tea or English Breakfast, Rooibos has the benefit of not less than those two popular teas. Derived from South Africa, the plant has a needle-shaped leaf with a bright green color, but once processed, the color turns reddish.
Plants whose latin name Aspalathis linearis originally grew in a limited population, and had nothing to do with the usual tea plant (Camellia sinensis). The use of Rooibos as a drink is found by the Khoi tribe who live in the mountains of South Africa. But more than that, the European population who live in the 19th and 20th centuries also consume this tea.
In addition to its rich taste, Rooibos is shown to contain antioxidants
and flavonoids, in which these two substances are found to be higher in
Rooibos than in regular teas.
In addition, although it does not have caffeine levels, the substances
in Rooibos can provide energy that is not less than coffee, and
refreshing. You can enjoy unbranded Rooibos tea, with milk, or sugar.
